• Pharaoh Menkaure built the third and smallest of the great pyramids at Giza (Mykerinus Pyramid in Greek). People thought that engineers finished building at the end of the 26th century BC. Menkaure ruled Egypt during the 4th Dynasty during the Old Kingdom Period of Ancient Egypt.

The date of construction is unknown, because Menkaure’s reign hasn’t been defined, but it was probably completed in the 26th century BC. It is a few hundred meters southwest of its larger neighbors.

The pyramid had an original height of 215 feet, but stands at 204 feet today as a result of the removal of its outer casing and capstone. Builders encased the lower section of the pyramid  in pink granite and the upper portions in white Tura limestone.

Archeologists believe that nobody completed the pyramid because the remaining course of granite at the bottom are still rough.
