Ras El Bar is a small coastal town located in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt. It is famous for its beautiful beaches. Clear waters, and coral reefs, which make it a popular destination for snorkeling, scuba diving, and other water sports.

In addition to its natural beauty, It is also home to a number of historical and cultural attractions.  Including the ancient ruins of the city of Berenice.Which was founded by Ptolemy II Philadelphus in the 3rd century BC. The ruins include a temple, a theater, and a number of other structures, and offer a glimpse into the rich history of the area.

It is also a popular destination for traditional Egyptian cuisine. With a number of local restaurants and cafes serving up delicious dishes such as koshari, ful medames, and shakshuka.

Location

Ras El Bar lies in a peninsula on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, and it is bordered on the western by the Damietta Nile branch. The area of “Lessan” is located in the extreme northern part of this peninsula.  And it is at this point where the Damietta Nile arm flows in the Mediterranean sea, which gives Ras El Bar the shape of a triangle.

Climate

The climate of Ras El Bar is classified as hot desert (BWh) by Koppen Geiger system although tempered by the proximity to the Mediterranean Sea.
